2003
DISCOVERY
The conservation projects for migratory birds began in 2003, after the discovery of threatened populations of sandpipers in Ceará.
2007
THE FIRST WORSHOP
In 2007, AQUASIS promoted the first Brazilian workshop on endangered migratory birds in the Western Atlantic Migration Corridor ( Western Atlantic Flyway ), with the participation of renowned experts from Brazil, the United States and Canada.
2008-2010
BANK OF CASHEWS
Through the project financed by the US Fish & Wildlife Service , the AQUASIS Bird Conservation Program team discovered a rare wintering area for the red snapper at Banco dos Cajuais.
2010
RINGING
In 2010, the first migratory bird ringing campaign was carried out at Banco dos Cajuais, in partnership with CEMAVE / ICMBio, and researchers from Brazil, Canada and Argentina.

HEMISPHERIC NETWORK
2019
In 2015, the AQUASIS poultry team promoted the "Site Assesment Tool" Workshop, together with the NGO SAVE Brasil for the insertion of the Banco dos Cajuais in the Hemispheric Reserve Network for Poultry.
SPONSORSHIP PETROBRAS
The AQUASIS Migratory Birds Project from the Northeast, received sponsorship from Petrobras, approved in the first place in the public selection notice of the Petrobras Socioambiental Program.
2023
SEGUNDA FASE DO PROJETO
Em sua segunda fase, o PAM em parceria, por meio de convênio com a Petrobras, amplia sua área de atuação do Nordeste para toda a Margem Equatorial do litoral brasileiro.
We are the Migratory Birds of the Northeast (PAM) project, we operate in monitoring, environmental education, public policies and in several conservation actions for coastal migratory birds and residents along the Western Atlantic route, with special emphasis on five more coastal bird species. endangered species in Brazil: red- headed curlew ( Calidris canutus ), white- backed curlew ( Limnodromus griseus ), flat - tailed curlew ( Calidris pusilla ), batuíra-bicuda ( Charadrius wilsonia ), and thirty-réis -rose ( Sterna dougallii ). We are present along the coast of Ceará and in part of the coastal zone of Rio Grande do Norte, in at least 14 coastal municipalities.
Another project developed by the Aquatic Ecosystems Research and Preservation Association - AQUASIS, sponsored by Petrobras through the Petrobras Socio-Environmental Program.
